Dark Alliance Redux: The Tyrants Take Over

There’s an old Bill Hicks joke about the tragic fact that America essentially acts as the cross-country incarnation of Jack Wilson, a villain from the 1953 gunslinger film Shane. America throws the proverbial pistol at the feet of less fortunate nations like the old man in the movie, then we ask them to reach for it and once they take the bait, BANG! Blow them away and say “You saw ‘em, he had a gun,” to justify it to the public. This is true to life much more so than many laughing in the audience may have realized. In actuality, the United States of America has set up some seriously shaky motivations to start the past several wars we have waged against fear itself for the far-off fanciful triumph over terror. We attack all the foreign families the government can manage to make us afraid of as Uncle Sam incinerates them by the thousands with high tech weaponry to siphon the last few fleeting drops of oil from the burnt rubble.

We went to war with Iraq for a decade and a half based on a false report describing their former leader we left hanging in the ruins of his city having chemical weapons which fit the description, not of any real chemical weapons, but of the fictional depiction of them in 1995 Michael Bay prison break-based blockbuster, The Rock. Then we proceeded to use limited restrictions on drone offensives to bomb several separate countries without congressional approval under the guise of a continuance of the “war on terror” that was started for the most part in Iraq and Afghanistan and spread like the plague to terrified natural fuel enriched nations worldwide ever since.

The country that truly carried out the September 11th attacks which played a major part in sparking those wars was Saudi Arabia. It's an equally barbaric country that is still considered to be an American ally to this day, despite human rights violations, mostly because Saudis willingly give us their oil. The bin Laden family, labeled as the true masterminds of the attacks were multi-millionaire oil barons and Osama himself was trained to fight the Russians during the Cold War in Afghanistan by the American military. He later went on to use leftover American weapons to found the Taliban terrorist group. Now we just entangled ourselves in a potential World War III-worthy tussle between America, the entirety of terrifying things in the whole wide world and the Russians, run by an administration that is infamously friendly with Syria's leader.

The Trump administration has been the subject of an almost endless assortment of comically outlandish and uproarious of scandals ranging from their ties to Russian leaders to their tentative relationship to the truth or as they have now classically coined it “alternative facts.” They have been the subject of such monumentally momentous protests the entire world has taken notice of their reality television-type tomfoolery. There has been firing and hiring that made a whole nation’s worth of heads spin, what a fitting position for a mainstream media tv host/president. Trump made half the country hate the media and the other half trust it entirely too much, everybody is at the extreme end of any argument they're in with no common ground to touch. But perhaps we all took sides in too much of a frantic rush, allowing an administration of media execs, corporate cronies and tricksters to cause us to slip up.

While we’ve been ranting and raving at each other, whining, rioting and fighting in the streets, in the sheets and online, countless pieces of once unalienable right-stripping legislation were allowed to fly by. No more net neutrality as of a few days ago, no more clean water either, and say so long to your favorite PBS shows and after school programs parents and teachers. As we screamed at each other these schemers scurried silently by and now millions are just sitting on their hands to watch our beloved American democracy die, coincidentally coinciding with Trump investments soaring sky high.

The left fosters hypocritical hate for the Russians and Democratic Socialists for their foes after years of being compared to them, if disingenuously and defamatorily so. Meanwhile the right was doing the same to the news and who would believe we’d be at war with Putin just a few days too soon. Now countries world wide will all start taking sides, we'll be joining up with our far right wing allies after all of our sane supporters were rightly scared off by the bird nest haired guy. We’ve got Duterte in the Philippines and his roaming vigilante street shooters, we have Denmark and Sweden and the alt-right reddit users. Not quite the biggest heavy hitters list, looks like our own military will have to be the most vicious. After Bernie Sanders was stirring such profound pro-populist passion, suddenly a corporate CEO and tv show host came along to make us prey for normal politics to come back in. Are we forgetting about the decades Don was such good friends with the Clintons he was said to have burned, but actually just made even people who wanted nothing to do with it start turning to her?

But what or who could have caused this most dramatic swing when a few months ago we were all going about our lives like without even taking the time to drive to the voting booth for a turnout of even 50 percent in favor of frivolous things? Well, while he may have made it seem like he was fired and went out in a glorious blaze, Breitbart News’ Steve Bannon still has our eyes blinded in his distraction tactic haze. He was dramatically relieved of his high position, put up a big fuss after he was “fired” from his mission and threatened to quit after the fact for what, spin? His ire seeme strange as did threatening to truly leave after already being told to get, especially seeing as he “tricked” Donny boy into signing him into permanent employ. Steve's performance sounded so steadfast and fearless, because better way to make the accusations of shadiness and corruption go away and keep the citizens’ inquisitiveness at bay, than to lose your official status, but still keep all of your access and security clearance.

Now Mr. Bannon can command the commander in chief without even being mentioned in the official brief, it’s just advice for a fellow friend, not the most powerful man in the land, why keep asking questions? Just go bury your head in the sand. Steve in his generosity has continued to keep hot on the heels of the president's feet, but now to ask about the purpose for his presence, there just is no need. Would it be because he has said in his documentary the best way to gain power in America is to start World War III and restructure it as an all out right wing autocracy? More than likely, yes indeed. This past Friday Trump took it upon himself to perform a multi missile air strike on Vladimir’s ally Assad after Bashar had already won his war against the rebel's radical jihad. But we just gave rebels reason for a rallying cry, to rise up just like the last one we backed until they changed track and decided we should be despised.

We attacked in response to Trump’s Russian friend supposedly shooting a rebel base full of sarin gas with a non-inhumane missile that killed the kids with those hidden chemicals. This was cover-up that the science of sarin simply cannot defend because an explosion wouldn't send that gas in the wind. In the first of what will more than likely become many US attack in defense of Syrian kids we counterproductively killed 9 of civilians, including 4 more children. Get ready to refill Guantanamo Bay prison, because Trump just handed terrorists the first few recruitment tools for their anti-American sympathy. They make countless more enemies per innocent killed supposedly in their own best interests with the president's infinite wisdom. The response to the self-defeating destruction was less than reassuring from former ExxonMobil CEO currently third runner-up for the presidency Rex Tillerson, he’s all for the war, just like the last one, along with the oil drums mixed with blood it runs in.

Trump's team enraged half the planet and radicalized our whole country just in time for a third World War, I hope you don’t mind having less time to keep track of your rights on the chopping block anymore. Brace for this everyone and kiss those you might miss, when it comes to what our government has done to us now in a few years, trust me, ignorance will be bliss. I wish I could wave a wand and make it all dissipate. The left has leapt back to trusting those they used to rebel against and moved center right for more wide-spread audience, while the right is leading us astray towards much darker days. At least we have a bombastic host for this twisting, turning dramatized play set up on the world stage and maybe the next generation will learn something from us when they’re at our age, or maybe they won’t and the next war they’ll wage. Until then all we can do is keep trying to turn things around until we turn a new page.
